My parents were wine collectors, and friends with winemakers, importers, and merchants. Weekends in American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) like Napa, Monterey, and Santa Ynez, introduced me to fine wines at an early age. Over the years, small sips on special occasions, built a lasting intrigue.
As a young adult, I would informally study wine while working in four-star restaurants. After years of tasting, reading, and traveling, I would formally study wine with merit through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET2), and the Napa Valley Wine Academy (NVWA).
Wine is half the job; training and testing in valuation theory and methodology is the other half. As an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA AM), I provide appraisals in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
